How it's Made

It starts with certified organic cacao beans.

The beans are cold pressed into a cake, which separates the oil from the protein and fiber (this oil is cacao butter).

The cake is dried slowly, never exceeding 120° F so that it meets the standards of raw, fermented cacao. (By the way, All other cocoa powders are exposed to temperatures as high as 300° F.)

The dry material is then cold-ground and fine-milled so that only the finest raw cacao particles become this finished product.  

How to Use

This ingredient can be used in anything that you want to add a chocolaty flavor to. It is bitter as a standalone ingredient, so use it in conjunction with a healthy sweetener.

Add it to your smoothie. The chocolate flavor shines for the people that want to drink a healthy breakfast and feel like they're getting away with dessert.

In hot chocolate. Add it to warm milk with honey (and a little cinnamon) for a delicious warming cuppa after dinner.

In raw treats. Use it in a ganache, to make raw chocolates, or sprinkled delicately on your date dish.

Bake with it. For the bakers, you can still this in any recipe you find that calls for cacao.


Note: antioxidants are destroyed with high heat, so if you're utilizing this delicious ingredient for its healthy nature, try to keep it under 120° F
